Dental MBA
Build the business behind the dentistry.
Mastering Business Acceleration in Dental Practice Ownership
A 12-month business accelerator for practice owners who want clearer numbers, stronger leadership, better systems and a dental business that can grow without every decision depending on them.
This program is exclusive to PowerUp Residency Alumni.
You were trained for dentistry. Ownership is another profession.
Owning a dental practice can make you responsible for accounting, finance, HR, recruitment, rostering, stock, workflows, culture, performance, marketing, risk and strategy - sometimes before anyone has taught you how those pieces fit together.
Dental MBA brings those pieces into one operating picture. We work on the real business behind your clinical day so you can understand what is happening, decide what matters and build systems that keep improving after the session ends.
What Changes When the Business Gets Stronger
You can read the numbers and spot problems earlier.
The team knows what good performance looks like and who owns what.
Recurring work is systemised instead of reinvented.
Rosters, chairs and support are planned around capacity and demand.
Growth decisions are based on economics and readiness.
Additional locations can share an operating model without pretending every site is identical.
Your own time shifts towards leadership, strategy and the work you choose to keep.
Who Is Eligible to Apply
You have completed PowerUp Residency.
You own or lead a dental practice and want to improve the business as deliberately as you improve the dentistry.
You are willing to know your numbers and confront problems early.
You want systems and leaders that can carry more of the business.
You are prepared to implement between sessions rather than only attend.
You value a small, high-trust group where owners can speak openly about the realities of practice ownership.
What You Will Master in Dental MBA

-
Owner dependence, management structure, documentation, business quality, valuation, succession and building a practice you could keep, expand, partner, step back from or eventually sell from a position of strength.
How the Course Works
Bring the real numbers. Bring the real problem. Leave with a decision, an owner and a next action.
Six Dental MBA Business Intensives
Six core sessions across the year give the group enough space to go deep, implement, measure what changed and return with better information. The content is structured, but the problems we spend time on are shaped by the businesses in the room.
At least four Implementation + Troubleshooting Zooms
Between sessions, group Zooms provide extra coaching and a place to bring the issues that only become visible once implementation begins. The purpose is to keep momentum and solve the real-world friction between knowing and doing.
PowerUp Masters included
Dental MBA members can also return to the PowerUp Residency through PowerUp Masters during the year. Business skill becomes more useful when the owner keeps strengthening communication, confidence, productivity, health and the personal foundations underneath their leadership.
Built around your practice
This is intentionally bespoke. A one-location owner working on profitability and team structure does not need the same emphasis as a four-location group trying to standardise reporting and leadership. We use the common curriculum as a foundation, then spend time where it can create the greatest value.
A meaningful investment. A much bigger return.
Pricing is based on practice locations rather than chair count because each location generally brings its own team, workflow, roster, financial performance and operational issues.

-
No. Dental MBA stands for Mastering Business Acceleration in Dental Practice Ownership. It is a private professional development and business coaching programme created for dental practice owners. It is not an accredited MBA, master's degree or university qualification.
-
At this stage, Dental MBA is application-only and available to people who have completed the PowerUp Residency. The programme assumes that foundation and is designed as the next ownership-level stage of the pathway.
-
The programme is built around real practice ownership problems. Current owners are the primary audience. Active acquisition or ownership pathways may be considered by the team where the timing and fit make sense.
-
Dental MBA runs across 12 months, with six core sessions during the year and at least four group Zoom meetings for troubleshooting, implementation support and coaching.
-
There is a core business curriculum, but the programme is intentionally bespoke. The emphasis changes according to the businesses in the room, their current constraints, numbers, teams, systems and growth plans.
-
Dental MBA membership includes access to PowerUp Masters, allowing participants to repeat the PowerUp Residency classes during the year and continue strengthening the foundations that support their leadership and decisions.
-
Each location generally has its own team, workflow, roster, culture, financial performance and operational issues. Chair count alone does not reflect that complexity, so the current pricing model treats each practice location as the relevant unit.
-
The first practice location is $6,000 + GST per month. The second adds $4,000 + GST per month. The third adds $2,000 + GST per month, and each additional location after that adds $2,000 + GST per month.
-
To be confirmed in the final enrolment terms. The programme should define when key team members can join selected sessions or implementation work without diluting the owner-focused cohort.
-
No. The programme is designed to improve business capability, systems, decision-making and implementation. Outcomes depend on each practice, owner, market and execution, so financial or valuation outcomes should never be guaranteed.
-
Complete the application form with your ownership structure, locations, current challenges and what you want to change over the next 12 months. The Dr Tiv Academy team will review fit, readiness and cohort capacity before offering a place.
